Default SC oil viscosity preference

Hello,

I am planning to put a comptech SC on my car. At the moment i am using 5W-40 Amsoil for engine oil. My mechanic has propose me to use 20W-50 when i put the SC. Can you please tell me if this is the preffered viscosity when you put a SC? Which viscosity are you guys using??

Thanks
Chris

The tech guys at Amsoil recommended the 5W-40 European synthetic when I emailed them and asked. I'm running it now.

In the summer, I prefer a 10W30 synthetic...higher if I am going to the track. In the winter you can go lighter.

just wondering...what kind of numbers are you putting down? I dropped my car off yesterday to get tuned at King Motorsports with a 12psi pulley on...

ohh and I am running 5w-30 Mobil1 right now. Its like 20-30 degrees out in the morning. Ive been putting all of my new parts on my car the past two weeks So i didnt want any issues. I normally run 10w-30 Mobil1 in the summer.
