You should think about getting an A/F monitoring system even if you remain at a stock Vortech kit, you need to know if your running lean.
More thoughts?
You can replace the clutch without removing the SC, It's just much easier with it not installed. You will be resting the SC unit on the engine compartment cross-beam to lower the engine enough to access the top trans bolts.
The Aftercooler does need to come out as well.

I'm using an OEM clutch as well (still original) with no problems yet. When I do need to replace it I will upgrade though. I would also reccomend going on a dyno and checking your AFR. Vortech's tend to run lean. I also have boost and AFR gauges. If you don't use a wideband O2 sensor for the A/F gauge, then you will not have as accurate readings and you will simply have a "christmas tree decoration" as XViper once said...
Whilst on the subject of checking afrs, and since you autocross as well, you might want to spend that little bit more and get a wideband logger rather than ust the gauge. I'm quite happy with my plx R500, but there's other options as well which won't cost as much and still do a good job. Also, it's not a bad idea to have your logger installed first and see your engine's parameters before the sc for comparative purposes.
IT"s just bolt and go, you don't "need" all that other junk people stated above.just get a dyno to see if your running good
other junk required when upping the boost
check my sig for mods

^ funny guy, but true if everything else on your car is stock. The other stuff's not needed only when upping the boost though. Sticking on a test pipe and leaving everything as is will make you think you should have invested in 'the other junk' when replacing your engine, just my 2c.

Upgraded boost + test pipe - "other junk" = engine death?
Why would a test pipe cause this? The only think I can think of is it makes the car run even leaner...
