Default Sidewinder Bracing

For those with turbo / manifold bracing to the motor / etc...can you post up pictures of what you have? I'm going to be tackling this over the winter, and I'd like a few ideas before I get started on what others have done. I know a few of you have had issues with vibrations and different concerns, but I've not really seen much in the way of how it's been done. I don't want mine to look jank, so I was curious of how others have done this.

I don't have any cracking yet, but I'd rather not take that chance, and I plan on doing some other odds and ends, so I figure this will be a good time to do it.

Thanks in advance.

Use schedule 10 tubing and make quality TIG welds backpurged with full penetration and you wont need any bracing.

Yea, well I didn't build it, and even though it's been on there 2 years, I'd rather not take the chance and be driving and my turbo end up on the road. Better be safe than sorry.

Agreed. You could pull my engine out of the car by my manifold with a crane without it breaking. Sheepey Built.

I had to add attachment points on the valve cover for my brace. The majority of the weight is supported by the vertical brace to the head/timing cover support.

And I used small heim joints to try and keep things loose.

That looks really good!!! I also like the custom breather port on the valve cover.

Thanks for sharing, that looks extremely nice, but a bit more "hightech" than I was looking for, lol. Certainly gives me a few ideas though.

Eeek, heavy stuff. What's wrong with 16 gauge stainless tubing? Never had an issue with tubing. Pipe is more prone to cracking under vibration as well.

I made mine with a adjustable sway bar endlink.
Here are some pics with my track forged manifold.

I like what you did there RB, looks good. I've noticed several people going with the helms style joints, is this just for the ease of adjustability, or is there another reason?
