Default Sleeved block and heat ?

Ok so I just built my block and put darton mid sleeves in but I have noticed that the motor itself is hotter to the touch after even normal driving. Is the common with sleeved blocks? I still have an operation temp of 180 ish and iat of high 90's low 100's but it just seems odd the motor is hot to the touch as it didn't used to be this hot. Like I can't even touch anything after a drive.

It will run hotter w/ a sleeved block... But was your motor ever touchable after a drive?

Motors in general should be hot to the touch. Combustion is over 2000 Degrees.

Just watch your water temps. I can't imagine feeling much of a difference, but I suppose it is possible....

The Darton sleeves are closed deck and dont cool as well as the open designs like Benson / OEM.

What's the difference between closed and open deck sleeves?

^google.
-closed deck is solid across the top of the block from the outter edge to the combustion chambers with only little drilled holes to allow coolant passage. open deck has an open water cavity all the way around the piston sleeve.

180's are great water temps. a little cold for max power(195-ish), but fantastic for dd.
