Smoke on initial start-up

On my previous turbo install on an RSX, I remember getting smoke on initial start-up. I just finished my turbo build last night with a full-race setup and was wondering how long your car smoked around the exhaust manifold area?

Thanks!!!

prob until any residue of oil or whatever was on the manifold burns off, i dont think anyones gonna list a time frame

yep make sure you got 0 oil leaks cause if u got any oil leaks dripping in that area itll smoke

well, it smoked a lot when it began warming up...after a couple more minutes, it decrease but when i reved the engine it would increase a slight bit...i just hope its not an exhaust leak..

btw, i tripled checked everything so i was just trying to get a general idea

oh yeah 100% sure no oil leaks...only had one from the oil filter relocation kit and i fixed that

Double check the fitting to make sure thats the oil restrictor fitting and not just the fitting that comes with the turbo, if its a restrictor itll have like a pin point hole on the end accept the oil feed.

I'll check that fitting out..this will cause the turbo to get too much oil right, which may result in smoking?

lol I just got my manifold back on day before yesterday, I've done it 4 times now.

Smoke lasts between 5 minutes and 30 minutes for me, really depends on how much oil and how hot i get it.

One time I must have bumped the oil line on top because it was making a wet area around the fitting so the smoking lasted all day I knew I hadn't split that much oil, I had to grind down a wrench to fit to be able to snug it up but it worked.
