Default SOS stage 2 belt slipping

Hello everyone,

I'm currently on SOS stage 2, 3.2" pulley and my belt is slipping at 7500 RPM and up. SOS recommends Goodyear Gatorback Poly-V Serpentine Belts 4060395 to pair up with their 3.2" pulley. I'm currently on a Continental belt and was wondering if anyone had experience with Goodyear's belt or have any recommendations?

Good year gator back is what I used with good results. Their suggestion may work fine as well, I never tried it. But the Gator back has the added cross section cuts in it which seem to help add more biting edges. Make sure you get the largest belt possible for the most wrap around the pulley without bottoming out your tension adjustment. The larger the belt the better. Then make sure you have proper/enough tension as well and no oil weeping from blower or oil line contaminating your belt. Your always going to slip a little in first gear because of how fast the engine spools up, but you should be able to get full psi in 2nd gear. Your spinning tires in first and usually 2nd gear anyway so doesn't matter. If you cant get full psi in 3rd gear, your doing it wrong.

I think it's just one of those things... some people say their belt slips on a 3.2", others don't - and others probably wouldn't even realise if it was or wasn't slipping

If you're pretty adamant on trying to prevent belt slip I would go with the larger crank pulley from ASP, I honestly don't believe a change in belt is going to fix your problem in the long run. I suppose it's worth a shot though, $25 for a belt, $75-$90 for a crank + labour

Larger crank pulley is about $300 last I heard, unlike a SC pulley. So you better do everything you can right to prevent slip before going there. Its a last resort as far as im concerned.

7.5inch 8-Rib Crank Pulley = $200 US
4inch 8-Rib S/C Pulley = $125 US

How did you clear the water pump with a 7.5" crank pulley? Ive heard of an instance of moving to an 8 rib set up, but 6" or 6.25" diameter is the largest ive heard run that fits without contacting the water pump.
