Default SOS Supercharger

Hey everyone, so i've been debating for a while whether i should keep my 04 s2000 na or go supercharged. I know that for my year, there are not a lot of options for a ecu tune which made me kind of stray away from going boosted. I recently read on the Science of Speed site that they offer a stage 1 supercharger for the s2000 that includes a "plug and play" fuel management system. Does anyone use this supercharger for their 04 or 05 models? I want to know if i order this supercharger can i just simply use whats included in the package and doing a simple bolt-on? Here's the link http://www.scienceofspeed.com/produc...5F1/2000%2D05/
Any help will be great!

I have the stg1 and i couldn't be happier. Install was straight forward. I bought an AEM fail safe to monitor my AFR and all i needed to do was slightly adjust my RRFPR to get it where i wanted it. Ive taken the car on about six 4+ hour road trips and beat the crap out of it whenever i get a chance. I surprisingly still get about 29mpg crusing at 75-80. I figure i should be close to 300 whp. The ecu part of it was literally plug and play.

The only downside is u get use to the power real fast. Its not the kits fault it that lust for more power that got me.

on the plus side you can upgrade to bigger injectors, smaller pulley and an ems and youre good to go. Oh and a clutch. My stock clutch slips when i shift too fast.

Other than that i think you will be very happy with the kit

Thanks for the info! Do you know if the stock clutch will work with the new power? Or do i need to upgrade to something stronger?

upgrade it if you are making anything over 300whp, stock clutch doesn't like anything over that

The factory clutch can handle the stage 1's power if it is in good condition.

The slipping from shifting too fast is likely caused by the factory delay valve in the clutch slave cylinder (see this link for a description of what it is). It can be removed as a DIY (see link) or replaced using a slave cylinder from a 2000-03 model.

As this does add to the clutch slipping a small bit during shifts it does not fix slipping. The factory pressure plate is simply not up to the task of a whole lot of power over stock. Mine was s/c'd for a couple of days with the OE clutch and it would just roast the clutch at 350whp. Mind you my OE clutch only had 5800mi on it. After the clutch upgrade that issue is gone...while still retaining the CDV and great driveability to date. Just my .02

My CDV is still in my car and I don't observe any slipping when shifting hard. It used to slip during hard shifts when I was NA. I think it was because of a combination of the heavy AP2v1 flywheel and weak pressure plate. I have an ACT HD PP and AP1 flywheel.
