SOS TS Max Turbo Kit Build Thread
#443
Different dynos, different days, different boost levels (SOS running 10psi, Riceball777 running 14psi, both on 91 octane), but at least this dyno and the SOS dyno are both Dynapack. Ignore the numbers and only look at the torque curve.
We're looking at the 2.16L F22 vs. the 2.0L F20, so we'll look at the torque curve as a percentage of the operating range. Assumptions are F22 operating range is 750rpm-8000rpm and F20 is 750rpm-8800rpm.
So the SOS is carrying flat/peak torque from 4000rpm-6600rpm, or about 45%-80% of the engine speed range. Then the torque drops about 13% from 80%-100& engine speed.
Riceball's setup is holding peak torque from about 5200rpm-8000rpm. That's from 55%-90% of the engine speed range. Torque drops about 7% in the last 10% of the engine speed range.
So there's your tradeoff between these two particular turbo setups, a 10% shift in the engine speed range of the powerband.
