This sound like a bad/damaged diverter valve?
Hello, I have an AP1 with SOS stage 1 kit.
Car runs and drives like a dream, but yesterday something disconcerting happened. When I hit 5.5K (exactly) I will hear a click-pshh and it will continue doing that. Definitely feels like boost is exiting the system...not making as much power/torque. VTEC xover is at 4700 so I know it's not that. Engine is running smooth so I don't think this is any kind of engine problem. Also, no CELs.
I inspected some of the lines, and the big one (aftercooler back to diverter valve to intake arm) kind of has a big gash in it from rubbing the radiator fan support (though it's not gashed-through from what I can tell). The small vac line to the diverter valve feels like it may have gotten pitted/melted by what I think is the thermostat right below it. Not sure if there's a hole in that.
I'm going to try replacing that with some 4mm vac line I got just to have spares...hopefully that takes care of it. I may duct tape the bigger hose for now to see if the problem goes away, too, though I think replacement is probably in order.
This all sound like the diverter valve and/or a hose/tube is the culprit? Given the location of this, I think this will happen again after another year given the location of this system...should I just get a BOV?

I would cool tube and heat wrap with dei cool tape over that for your your vac lines. They won't melt then.
As far as the valve goes. Replace the lines. If that doesn't fix it. Check every last pipe and line. If its not fixed, then it very well is probably the valve. I've seen a few diverter valves go bad, but they were on Audi's. Lines are cheap. Replace them. Then go from there.

It wasn't actually the diverter valve!
The SC pulley bolt and woodruff key are gone, so the pulley was free-spinning. It was properly tensioned, so there was no lateral motion to make the pulley fall off. Besides, the 4.8" pulley cannot be removed without pulling the main blower mounts...the main tensioner pulley and the hex bolts at the front of the head are in the way.
SOS retro-fitted a new type of locking bolt for this very problem, and looks like I'll be asking for that.
For now, the belt is disconnected. NA for me for at least a week
