What happens is the ignition system pushes a signal back into the e-manage causing a variety of problems and depending on the type of ignition system implemented on the car can even burn up the coils.
we are getting off topic;

Are you suggesting the diode on the triggery wire the ULT and the Coil trigger .

I dont see how a resistor plug ( resistor in the primary voltage path) can lead to a back voltage into the ULT/ECM through the trigger wire when the circuit with the resiator is isolated from the trigger in the coil.

I think that may have been a problem with previous versions of the ULT circuit board.

Lets move this line of comments to the Emanage thread.

O.K I did not mean to start a small resistor war, I just wanted to know what plug to use on the S for the high HP and boost.

Thanks

How about BCR 8ES and BCPR 9ES, 1 and 2 steps colder. Maybe a 2.5mm modifaction of the top is needed. Have anyone tried?

I used non-resistor copper plugs (NGK 7173s) in my car as well, and no problems at all. Running EMS.
I ran them and started getting a flashing immobilizer light as well as it freaking out the Modifry DCI. I replaced with the NGK Iridium and it stopped, however my 7173's were at about 5500 miles and most people seem to replace them at 3k so if I was on that schedule I probably wouldnt have had any issues.

Good to know. I replace my plugs at 3k as well, cause they're so cheap! If I ever get lazy, I'll see if I get similar symptoms.
