Default Spec Clutch

I just ordered the Spec Stage 3 clutch (holds 492 lbft of tq) and was wondering if anyone has this or knows how good they are?

Had one on my FD and I friggin' loved it (stage 3 also) so it should be similar. The take up is definitely quick with a very short friction point but you adjust quickly and you'll love it. I have a clutchmasters now and it's not quite as nice as my Spec was...course it's a different platform but I don't think that makes a difference.

Spec makes nice clutches. Don't get fooled though by many of the companies maximum torque ratings.

Yeah the "maximum" rating is very arbitrary -- if you really want to know the capacity call up a Spec tech (I couldn't resist rhyming that), tell them what you have and what you plan on using the car for (i.e. auto-X, drag, etc.) and they will tell you where to go from there.

Glad to hear it's a good clutch package.
As long as this clutch will hold at least 375 lbft of tq and I believe it will, I'm happy.

I have a SPEC stage 2 and it has held 360+ lb-ft and some hard launches- even with the clutch delay. It rattles like crazy though...

That's good to know except for the rattle.
