Default SPOON throttle body in stock intake

Will a spoon throttle body make any gains when you go SC and keeping the intake stock?

I have read there are minimum to no gains when you are NA but what about when you go SC?

Any feedbacks on this setup?

ahh you shoulda asked me about this earlyer. Don't buy a SPOON throttle body!!! its a waste of money for what you get. Get the one from Science of Speed

www.Scienceofspeed.com I bought mine from them as well.

okay ready for this one?? The stock intake manifold for our cars is 68mm<<<< thats how big the opening is for all our air to shoot through it. sadly enough our STOCK throttle bodies are 64mm and all Science of speed does is bore out our stock one to 68mm to even out the flow and not bottle neck it. AND it only costs 200 bucks through them.

and yes you will see gains.... 5hp minimum but the biggest notice is the increased throttle response. Thats what makes it worth it.

if you want i can take a picture of it for you? its still in a box in my room haha and it looks sooooooo clean

Chris,

Now i read you post again and saw Schience of speed throttle body i believe you must making a mistake. Our stock intake manifold is 64mm as the stock throttle body. Spoon throttle body is 70mm inlet and 64 outlet like Scheince of speed throttle body. So it's the same thing.

sigh, ...... the opening on the intake manifold IS NOT 68MM... gaurenteed!!!! I know because I had to port mine down 1mm or so to match even with my spoon TB which is 65mm inside!

Maybe its different with 06+, but theres no way in hell the 00-05 opening is 68!!!!

I have the spoon throttle body.... and it is unique in its own design (different from all other units)

the science of speed is no magic TB, according to there website...
http://www.scienceofspeed.com/products/exh...hrottle%5Fbody/

same as every other TB on the market.... 70mm inlet and 64mm back into the manifold...

Dont pay attention to what websites tell you the measurements of things are, pull them off the car and measure for yourself!!! Thats the only way to get an accurate assessment!

o crap... i must have read something wrong then.... or got it backwards.... if the intake manifold is only 64mm opening then whats the point of getting a bigger throttle body? its still gonna bottle neck the air flow??? ahh back to researching

I opened up my manifold and went with the ProFlow initially. The stock TB is 62.5mm and ProFlow opens it up to 64mm. I then opened up another manifold and went with the 70mm BDL. With boost, it's worth it.

for this 70mm BDL you ported the manifold inlet to 70mm as well i assume?
