Default Starting out on SOS and expanding... need some advice!

Ok guys, I have done all the searching I can and have some questions for you.

I have an 05 S2000, looking to supercharge in the near future. I eventually want to work my way to 375-400whp.

My plan is to start small with a SOS kit. I would love to be able to get the NOVI 1200 with AEM EMS v2, but stay at a low enough PSI to keep clutch and injectors stock for a year or so. Is this possible? Would I be better off just buying the base kit with the novi 1220? I'm not sure I can even do the "base" kit with the novi 1200 according to their website.

I would ideally like to run their "base kit" for a year with the NOVI 1200, then the next winter, go full EMS, injectors, clutch, etc.

What do you recommend?

Novi 1200 - this supercharger is optimized for 10-16 PSI (400-480 whp). A proper upgraded fuel and engine management system is required. Engine modification and fuel quality must be sufficient to support this power level.

Taken from the SOS website.

I would just do it all at the same time. if anything, get the kit with the 1200 blower and get the AEM and ID1000 injectors (fuel pump as well if its not included). then if you want more power later just pulley down and retune.

i did two tunes like you said.. if i put it all in the first shot it wudda saved me 1000 bucks...

So being that I am shooting for 375-400 would a 1220 suit me better or does the 1200 make more torque down low at 375whp-ish vs the 1220?

Don't aim for a whp number...why??? Just get the clutch, EMS and fuel setup. Run a safe psi with those things which is 10-14psi on pump and enjoy. Also I say if you go with the above items then also get the N1200 blower so you wont have to upgrade later.

More like do you want to be really slow? Fork out the cash and go with the 1200. You won't regret it!

It's more like, I dont want to deal with transmission/differential issues. I want 400whp MAX, In fact I probably prefer 375. This isnt going to be some highway monster.

I installed my SOS base kit (1220 blower/6 psi) on my '05 with minor bolt-ons, and my stock clutch started slipping. My car only had 34k miles when I installed the kit, and I removed the CDV early on in the car's life as well. Some people have been able to run a base SC with the stock clutch, but I wasn't able to. So there's a good chance you will need a clutch at the same time as the SC for whatever that's worth.

If you know you want those power levels, then just do it (i.e., EMS, injectors, etc.) once as it will be cheaper. As for the 1220 vs the 1200, I think the 1220 in theory is supposed to be "better" for up to 10 psi?

I didn't say any of that. All I said is that for 375-400 you will need all those things. So just wait and get all at once. You should not hurt the transmission at that power level and the diff can blow at stock power. Just don't bang the gears or launch the car and both should will be fine.
