tru but if people are doing 14 psi on the stock head gasket supercharged then its seeing more than 10 psi @ 5-6 rpms correct and not just 14 psi for a split second.

Five thousand rpm is around 4 psi and 6000 rpm is 6 psi. Much difference from the turbo boost curve.

I was boosting up to 16 psi with a stock head gasket and no failures.

It is not recommended unless you can lower the compression ratio another way.

The only guys that really run much more than 10psi on the stock HG are us supercharger guys. I think we can get away with it primarily because you don't see peak boost until you're at redline...so it's only for a second. You turbo guys see peak boost at 4 or 5k rpm...since the motor is seeing a lot more boost through the rev band I would probably play it safe if I were you.

GL,

exactly. hp is not what really matters anyway its torque. and like hes saying we turbo guys peak tq levels way before sc guys, and it holds steady if the tune is on key. That creates pressure for quite awhile.

So you vortech guys running on a stock head gasket, how hard and how pricey is it to reach 350 WHP?

If i purchase a vortech kit, and slap it on, what WHP should i be looking at? is it really 300?

I'm trying to decided between the Greddy kit making 350 WHP or the Vortech/comptech making 350 WHP. And i would like to go greddy because of the price and the low torque...Then again, i heard superchargers are WAY less maintenance and less hassle. So i'm racking my brain!

NO WAY!? SO ITS NOT HARD TO GET 350WHP??

I dont wanna go over 350 WHP.. OH and this is all on stock head gasket? and this is a reliable setup for along time? hopefullly the life i own the car? i dont drive hard much... just want the power to be there when i want it. I guess thats why im limiting to 350 WHP.

Is that a possible 12 second car?

if you want to reach 350whp, you'll need some type of EMS and some larger injectors.

with a good driver 320whp should get you into the high 12's...

I'm currently running an Emanage Ultimate with RC550 injectors...I'll be upgrading my pulley in January and should be around 400whp.

currently at 358whp/236.9tq (dynapack)
