Default Stupid Vibration cant get rid of

So my car has been bone stock since 01, i decided to turbo it here recently but now after turbo/clutch install i have a pretty good vibration around 2-3k rpm, doesnt matter if im driving or parked and reving, 2k is the worse and gets better closer to 3k, over 3k is gone. Under 2k and idle is fine
It vibrates the whole car if i hold it at 2k. Originally i thought it was the clutch, i had went a little cheap and tried out a XTD clutch with kevlar disc, ive had great luck with xtd in other cars figured why not.

So yesterday i pulled trans, and put a ACT PP and my factory t/o bearing back in. Vibration is not as bad now but is still there and very noticeable.

Flywheel is stock and re surfaced
all mounts are stock
I did put my drain in the timing cover, so harmonic was taken off but put back on and tq to oem specs

nothing from turbo kit is touching anything on body or anywhere, downpipe has flexpipe

Im at a loss right now of what else to change or check, someone maybe said i didnt put flywheel back exact how it came off, not sure if that is making a difference or maybe machine shop that surfaced it messed up. Clutch holds power fine and shifts fine

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Could there be anything from the kit that is resting or contacting any frame members or the firewall? When I installed my SC kit the bottom of the blower and aftercooler were actually resting on the front cross member and translating vibrations from the SC to the frame which resulted in vibrations in the cabin. After I found and fixed the issue it was like driving a totally different car with how quiet it was.

yea that was first thing i checked, i cant find anything of the turbo kit touching any part of the car, turbo sits over the front x member, but its notched so it doesnt touch. Also i think if that was case it would always vibrate or make noise.

nothing touching firewall that i can see

Dont know if it will help, but I have a super annoying vibration as well! Mine is only present at like 1900-2100 rpms and thats it. Ive looked at everything everywhere. I am almost 100% sure that it has something to do with my downpipe or exhaust. My reasoning is because I put my car on stands and put my jack under the exhaust where it attaches to the downpipe and the rattle was reduced quite a bit.

When my kit first went on, I didnt have the rattle with the open downpipe that I can remember either.

My next course of action is to brace my downpipe where the factory exhaust braces to the block, seperate my recirculating dumptube, possibly add another flex section under the body in addition to the one on my downpipe or just have another better exhaust built. It drives me nuts, but I had to stop spending money on the car until our contract situation is resolved at work.

see i thought mine was exhaust at first, so i spend alot of time under car and my exhaust was maiking noise but only due to the vibration, i was so bad before that one of my dumptubes broke, so i made a bracket for the dump tubes and downpipe, the downpipe bracket broke in 1 week.

when i get under car and hold the exhuast and have someone put it at 2k i can feel the vibration through the exhaust, before i had dumptube brackets i could actually watch them move like 1/4 inch from the vibration

what clutch and flywheel do you have? has your harmonic balancer been off?

I have stock flywheel with stage 4 Competition Clutch. Crank pulley was off when I did my timing cover install. But, Im certain that didnt cause mine because I drove around for a month or so after that stuff was on and never had the vibration I have right now. I didnt get the vibration until right after I had my exhaust mated up to my downpipe so thats why I think mine is my exhaust.

Yea that prob is yours. Im using the plm forward facing manifold. I have a few people tell me they think that is the vibration is from, just the harmonics of the manifold and how long it is.
Im not sure that is my issue but im willing to try anything to make it stop

Ive had a few responses saying the same thing about it just being because its a forward facing manifold. I've also thought about fabbing some kind of brace to go from the flange or turbo to the head or block just to see if it would help, but I'm probably going to try the exhaust way first.

as long as the vibration isn't oscillating i had the diff fail and i believe that the turning torque was lost on the ring or pinion which was causing my vibration.turbo cars are known to have vibration problems a lot more weight hanging of the side of the motor lord i know when my car is above 7500 rpm i get vibration from the supercharger
