Hi,

My car has recently been tuned and it's pretty good. I've sent it back recently to get a few niggles sorted such as the cold start and a rich spot. The tuner has sorted the cold start issue but is having a few problems with the rich spot. It's occurring at 6000-6200 rpm and it's only under partial throttle. The tuner has pulled a lot of fuel from the area but it's still running rich which is causing the motor to bog down.

Thought I'd ask on here to see if it's common or something that is linked to the AEM. My setup is:

AEM 1052u
AEM wideband wired in
Novi 1000
2.8" pulley
3bar map sensor
Decat
Fmic
Bosch recirc
14.5 PSI peak boost
7.4psi @ 6000rpm
Vtec 5700rpm

Are you running a boost comp map? Wonder where he pulled the fuel from, that point on the map, or some trim table? Running rich in a certain spot is certainly not normal, especially under boost. Post up your cal if you can.

 

Think he used a base supercharger map and is using the trim table. During WOT it's absolutely fine though, nothing abnormal is going on, it's just partial throttle, almost like it's expecting the boost and throwing the fuel in but obviously most of it is flowing out of the BOV.

It's still in the shop but will post it up once I get it.

 

Check to see if there's a large VTEC trim since the two points are kind of close to each other. Also, how rich does it actually get?

 

I'll take a look as soon as I get the map. I'm not sure how rich it goes, it was showing 10 on my afr Guage which is the lowest it will display! I will do some data logging when I get it back too.

let me know what you think. It also seems to run really rich on <5% throttle and makes the car judder a bit.

So your map is set up to dump a lot of fuel in that area, I'm assuming he did that for vtec, however, it adds a lot even at light loads. Also he turned off your wideband feedback for some reason, so the car runs strictly off the map.

Send me your email and I can send you an updated cal with a few changes. You'd have to provide some logs too (hit F6 on the "tuning" tab).

 

Also, what injectors are you running?

What should be happening in that area? Should there be a VTEC trim?

What does the wideband feedback do with regards to fuelling for the map? I think he mentioned my wideband was slighly off his wideband when he was tuning (the display on the guage) I've read that the wideband signal wired into the EMS can be different for the guage though. Do i have to calibrate anything?

Do you want a log with the current map or with your map?

Any idea why i get juddering on very light throttle (like <5%) the AFR goes nuts when this happens, like back and forth rich to lean.
