Default Supercharger Installation Prep

I plan on doing the installation of the SoS supercharger myself, and I had a quick couple of questions. At what point did you install the gauges? I plan on getting boost, oil pressure, and probably AFR. I'm not too savy with electronics so I may end up having the tuner do it when I take it to have it looked at.

How long did it take you to install the gauges and how difficult was the job? Was there any prep (I think you have to prep the exhaust for AFR)? Thanks.

I am running boost and AFR gauges and they arent that bad to install. You have to find an ingnition switched source in the fuse box, I can find the write-up on it, and a ground. The AFR gauge runs a harness out to the oxygen sensor that just plugs into it. You will have to have an o2 sensor bung welded into your exhaust. The boost gauge will require you to tee into an existiing vaccum line for the source of its pressure sensor.

It only took me an hour or 2 to install, after I welded the o2 bung into my down pipe, both gauges.

If using AEM EMS (and possible others) you don't need the factory O2 sensors so you can replace the one in the header with the wide-band sensor.

Good point, sorry I assumed you were using stock ecu with piggy back engine management

Actually I assumed wrong lol!
Just noticed his profile says 2007 S2k, so hes either using flash pro or K pro, neither of which I know much about. Since they retain OBD2 Im guessing he will need to weld an extra bung for wide-band.

I installed my PLX setup (i.e., wideband and boost/vac modules) while waiting for my SOS SC to ship. I wanted to make sure that was working fine, especially from an AFR point of view, before installing the SC just in case something went wrong with the installation.

It was very straightforward. I opted to install the PLX wideband o2 sensor in place of the primary o2 sensor, so I just needed to make sure I installed the resistor correctly in order for the ECU to think that the heater circuit for the o2 sensor was still in working order.

My tip would be to wire the SOS water pump in the same manner that the Vortech kit suggests.

I will be using FlashPro. It sounds like it will be a good idea to install the gauges prior to the supercharger installation. When installing the gauges, do you run any wires to the ECU or does the data go directly to the gauges?

If it goes directly to the gauge, I assume that's why it's important to buy gauges that log peak values. Is that correct?

I bought the PLX wideband and boost modules as well. Can I ask where you put the actual modules? Did you hide them behind the head unit?

My DM-100 multi-gauge is on my steering column as I wanted a stealth look as I'm not a big fan of the a-pillar solution.

My AFR and Boost/Vac modules are stored/installed underneath the dash on the driver's side. I was able to get them to stay securely without using any custom-made bracket or the like. I zip-tied the 3 modules together and it's big enough where it won't fall down when stuffed up there with all of the other wires and such there. Hoepfully that makes sense? Otherwise, I can try and take a picture.
