Supercharger will give better gas mileage.

your objective towards forced induction is only gas mileage?

how does SC give better MPG? I would have thought Turbo since there is less resistance on the motor.

Only thing I can think of is that an SC only goes into boost at higher RPMs so if you drive it down low its just like driving an NA car.

no its not just to get gas mileage. i dont want to lose mpg. i want a reliable setup and be able to spank foos when i need to but its also a daily driver so i cant have it in the shop tuning all the time.

is "foos" a shorthand version of "fools" which means stupid people?

You answered your own question on the second line.

A supercharger will spin all the time (being belt driven) so there will always be parasitic losses.

Assuming both are using stock tune when not in boost, the turbo should give better mpg when not in boost.

And of course the supercharger has even more parasitic loss when in boost so the turbo has the advantage there too.

So a turbo has will affect mpg less than a blower.

Of course all the blower guys are going to go wwf on me now, but facts are facts.

Wrong....

SC is basically the same thing as running your AC all the time (its a constant load on the engine no matter what rpm).

A turbocharger does not cause any extra load on the engine. Also common misinformation is that they spool all the time, which is NOT true. They spool based on your right foot as the engine does not make enough pressure to create positive pressure without ~30-40% throttle input.

You'll get better milage with a turbo plain and simple.

Agreed. Turbos make more power and, assuming you can control your right foot, should give you better gas mileage as compared to a supercharged car. Of course, there is the reliability argument. I don't see any turbo guys out beating up on there cars lap after lap...one guy was talking about doing it but I don't know what's going on with that.
