Supercharging a 2007 AP2
I was on the phone with Mike at Autowave today and had some ideas for tuning my 2007 AP2 with a Comptech Supercharger. They are a Comptech installer as well as dyno tuner. And no, i'm not associated with them in any way, but I was hoping someone could give some suggestions about this setup. If a moderator wants me to modify this post just let me know and I will do.
They have a custom AEM EMS harness that can be simply plugged into car. This setup would rely on the stock ECU to run the DBW system. The EMS used is for a RSX and would be modified to work for the S2000. Price for the kit (modded EMS, harness & base map for this setup) is $2150.
His tuning advice was to raise the redline to about 8700rmp, lower VTEC engagement to around 4500rpm and upgrade the boost to 9psi. He said whp should be around 340 on his dyno(assuming that the base comptech setup dynos around 285 at the wheels on his dyno).
It was suggested that while I'm at it I might want to upgrade my valves, valve springs and retainers to Supertech parts, which his shop is familiar with. Mike sounded very confident that this setup would be very reliable.
I am not familiar with Supertech and was hoping someone could tell me if they are the best to go with. I am pretty familiar with Toda and was considering them as well.
The downsides he mentioned are: 1. Factory traction control would be lost (yet could perhaps be replaced by the EMS traction control system) 2. It wouldn't pass smog (he said I could unplug the EMS and run the stock ECU to pass smog tests and then just reconnect the EMS)
I also was hoping for a recommendation on upgrading my clutch and flywheel.
Now I'm hoping to get some unbiased feedback on this idea and perhaps on this shop/company. Mike said I could simply buy the kit and have someone else tune it, so I might go that route. My biggest concerns right now are the hardware and reliability issues. Comptech keeps telling me to call back on the 18th. So I have to wait before I can order the kit.

leo: you could call Mike at Autowave and see if his AEM EMS fix will work with a turbo setup. Their site is: http://www.autowaveinc.com/
If you've got the cash itt's worth a shot to ask.

I have Mikes Harness for the AEM thats why I'm turbo'd. His harness works really well other than the Traction control. Don't sweat smog because when you purchase a new car you have 5 years before you smog it and by that time you may not even have the car.
I have a Comp Clutch Ironman series with Lightened flywheel and its great!! I don't have upgraded retainers or anything of the sort yet. Maybe later but maybe not.
Whoever said AEM is coming out with something better have a good source because Mike already talked to them and they're not going to touch this since he has something out already.
You will be spending some big money. Mike has a great rep. He does alot of NSX's.
