Default Supercharging an AP2?

If buying new, I understand both Comptech and Vortech offer a different supercharger kit for the 04-05 S2K.

But if you were to buy an AP1 kit, what additional parts do you need to make this kit work on an AP2? From what I understand, at least with the Comptech kit, the 2 setups are basically the same, except the AP2 uses what would be the 7psi pully on an AP1 as the stock pully. Is that it?

If I were to buy a kit designed for the AP1, what parts would I need for it to work on my car... and are these parts generally available from the manufacturer?

Thanks!

I think the Comptech for AP2 also has an extra fuel injector and a different setting for the FMU.

The AP2 Vortech has an Aux injector, revised FMU rate and a different timing/fuel controller. As well as a different pulley size.

The only difference on the Comptech AP2 kit is the pulley.

Oops, wrong brand. Wonder why they don't both incorporate the additional injector.

I dunno, It's more accurate fuel control than a just the FMU, but it costs a fair amount more.

So essentially, I can take from this that an AP1 Comptech kit can easily be made to work on an AP2 as all you will need is the 7psi pully, but the Vortech kit is a little more specifically designed from AP1 to AP2, so it probably wouldn't be worth trying to do the conversion.

Thanks for your help.

on the AP2 you have a returnless fuel system. The fuel pump is not fed a constant power when running, it's more like a pulse, similar to a ignition signal.

Because of this, the old FMU system is worthless. They way it worked was the fmu goes on the fuel return line, then a vacuum tee off the IM runs to the top. the fuel return line from the fuel rail was slowly pinched off according to the amount of boost. This effectively raises fuel pressure allowing the injectos to spray more fuel on boost.

Yeah, it was my understanding that the changes to the fuel system only came about this year in the MY2006 S2K.

What I'll probably end up doing is just buying a new s/c set up anyway, to know I have all the right parts I'll need... but just in case I came across a used s/c for the AP1 (I almost bought one from a local guy last month) I wanted to know if I could make it work for the AP2.
