Default T3/T4 60-1 vs GT35R

I am currently running the T3/T4 60-1 (.82 turbine, .60 compressor) turbo on my LoveFab GT1 kit and making some very good power, somewhere around 330 whp on 6-6.5 psi right now. Dyno numbers will be checked this coming Saturday after I complete my tuning. Full boost comes on at 4700 rpm and if not careful, first and second gears just blow the tires off when boost hits.

I was considering changing to the GT35R (.82 turbine, .60 or .70 compressor) but am not sure if it's worth the money or not. I'm not too sure if it's going to have as good of top end as my 60-1 either.

What do you guys think?

I'm not an expert and guys please correct me if i'm wrong, But i douth you'll run out of power up top with the GT35R I'm runing 500whp on my 2L neon and that bad boy pull hard all the way to redline. Sice you're having traction problems with the 60-1 i can see that getting nothing but worse with the GT35R cause it will spool a fair big quicker than the 60-1 depending on the spec's. Mine was a 700rpm differance in max boost when i switched

Thanks, that helps out a little. Anyone else care to comment on my dilemma.

For me its not worth the extra money.
I have the same turbo and never felt the need to have a ball-bearing turbo that huge.
If it were smaller then yes, I would fork over he money.
When my car was NA I never punched it before 5500 rpm so the 60-1 performes great for me.

Heck yeah!!!
All day everyday!
You should see when I put the boost up to 35psi on my t-25!

I think the 60-1 and GT35 both put out around 600 ponies....but the GT35 hits harder from what I have been told.

I was thinking that staying with the 60-1 would probably be just fine. Do you think it will perform just as good as the GT35R at say 14 or 15 psi?

What are the actual numbers you're putting down and at what boost?

Im no expert, but I think the only difference would be price and spool time.
It might spool a little faster but will put out the same power.

The T3/T61 is an affordable alternative to the GT35R. We use an ultra efficient GT35R compressor wheel with your choice of turbine wheel in a journal bearing CHRA. This allows "GT" power with a "T" price! This turbo has been used by a lot of high power sport compacts.

On my last setup with the same style mani as yours, I put don 313 at 6 psi.
I am pushing 9 now but have not put it on a dyno yet.

That helps me out a lot. I'll look into the T61 but will probably just stay with my 60-1 until I decide to pull and build the motor in a year or so.

Thanks a lot for your help.
