Default T3 or T4 turbo setup on a s2k?

So iv been readin up and checkin out turbo'd s2k's and i can't decide to go with a t3 or t4 setup. I have had guys swear by t4 setups because of the flow of the f20 head, and iv also had other guys push me towards t3 for spool up purposes and the fact that you can pick up precision 62's that can make a bunch of power 700whp+

I am shooting for around the 500whp mark eventually, this summer i would like to be around the 400whp mark but i don't want my setup to be maxed out and have to replace a bunch of parts when i want to turn it up. Its going to be a street car that see's the strip maybe a couple times a summer. It is going to be a 1/4 mile car as well just fyi

So im looking for EXPERIENCED peoples opinions, if you haven't done it or don't even own or mess with s2k's please don't post i am lookin for people who have tried it and have a honest experienced opinion about t3's and t4 setups on these cars

i posted this here and on HT to get good feedback

Thanx in advance

t3 set-up is more then capable of the power your trying to make. 6262 and a tubular manifold will be all you need. I don't think you will max out this set-up unless you have a fully built motor, trans, and diff.

thats what i was thinking iv seen t3's make over 750 and have decent spool up but some people swear by the t4's so i just want to make sure before i by a turbo and make a manifold

For your goals, a T3 will be more than adequate.

try to make the manifold as equal length as possible and place the turbo in a direction that there is not a tight bend coming straight off the turbo for the downpipe. Make sure the manifold is braced and well you should have no problem making 750whp +

iv been lookin at a bunch of different manifold designs im def gonna take my time with it considering i spent over 250 on the material to make it. And it seems like im gonna be going t3 on it to somewhere between 60mm and 62mm probably a precision

Well I don't want to come off like a jack ass but why do you want to build your turbo kit when many people like mase, ptuning and inline pro have worked out almost all the bugs. Your gonna spend way more money time and effort trying to reinvent the wheel. I would highly recommend doing on of the kits cause you can get replacement parts later down the road and there good companies. Then tweak your kit from there. I would get a kit and spend you energy with the trans and rear if you need to fabricate something. But hell its your car have at it. Good luck.

Hes already spent $250 on parts, so he doesnt want to lose all the investment hes made by going with a kit.

T4 is overkill.
