Default T3 to Vband adapter

Here's a link to one:
http://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?S...y_Code=ATP-FLS1

has anybody used this? Other than clearance issues, has there ever been history of these failing/cracking??

I'm getting a manifold fabricated, and want to keep a vband flange. My current turbo is a t3 so feeling out my options.

I don't know if it would be worth the extra $$ imo. Other than a little extra time putting it together, I've never had any exhaust leaks from my 4 bolt. If the turbo came with a vband already, but an adapter seems kinda stupid imo, lol.

that flange is for the exhaust side (downpipe side) of the turbo. It is NOT a vband to t3 turbine inlet flange adapter..

the OP stated he/she is having a manifold built, but this adapter wont help with mating a vband manifold to a t3 turbo.

yea i just like the idea of being able to take stuff off quickly, most likely I'll never actually do this, but if i ever do redo my set up it would be v band everything

damn youre right....my bad, i got excited.

i guess i should ask this then. what are the advantages of having a vband over a standard t3 setup? I know the vband allows for adjustability but does it provide a better seal? do people seldom have problems with leaks or seals with the 4bolt design of the t3/t04e setup?

also, no matter its a GT or standard T3 turbo, are ALL t3 inlet designs the same?
In other words, will a t3 journal bearing turbo and a gt3788r turbo mate up to the same manifold using a t3flange?

Depends, are you talking about the manifold side, or discharge?

If it's the 4bolt on the t3 manifold side, yes all t3's are the same. However, if you are referring to discharge they are not. I usually go to atpturbo.com and order the flange when I make my own d/p.

cool i think you answered my question. so gt3 and t3 turbos should all mate up to the t3 manifold.

but if you're running a vband downpipe, as long as you're running a vband discharge on your turbo it should all fit correct?

I just had a v-band welded onto a standard T3 turbine housing. It's held up great so far.
