Talking to SOS about turbo or S/C
So I've been talking to Science of Speed and talking about engine work and going either turbo or S/C. Personally at 99K miles I thought an engine refresh would do, which to me is new valve-cover gasket, titanium retainers and dual valve-springs, head gasket, and timing guide and engine inspection. I heard that superchargers in the long run are less reliable because of constant boost that cause problems for the top of the piston but Im not sure if that's right. So I was thinking turbo, but idk. Talk me into one of the two. Prices are similar.
You will most likely be in boost or at least much less boost with a supercharger. I would say the sc is hands down much more reliable over all but a properly done turbo setup can be fairly reliable as well. There's no constant boost. If your not heavy on the throttle you won't have any boost.
And see I lean more towards an S/C because I want more power but not over kill. Plus Im all about reliability at this point. Do you guys think I should do any engine work? Banjo bolt is a for sure thing.
