Hey guys, i will be turboing my car soon and i was wondering what type of line are you all using for your oil return line? yes i will be tapping my oil pan. Not the

oh yeah, just to let everyone know, i live in a small town in NC and there isnt any good welders around here that i know of. I know one good welder, but i dont think he will do aluminum.

Any tips will help pictures would do great to see how its done.

What turbo kit will you be using? If it's Inline, you can pay a core charge and buy a tapped pan for next to nothing and save yourself the hassle and risk.

 

Just use the oil drain bolt hole.

 

Pm minitoyota he has one already tapped
Dont ruin your oil pan
If you wanna do it the right way tap your Girdle not the pan

i got my oil pan welded for 23 bucks, i'm using a AN -10.

 

I have a female fitting in the oil drain that fits a male fitting connected to a -10 line. I could replace the drain plug anytime I wanted to.

i wouldnt use a drain bolt because it will flood and leak in to the turbo seal or even the turbo it self then causing blue smoke to come out from the exhaust. Then once the seals are gone oil will come out from the cold compresser side leading oil in to the pipes to the motor which is a big no no. ChefJ i hope you really didnt do that to your oil return.

You want the best flow going threw the oil return line. Also i dont want to tap the gridle. I have seen some pictures of others oil pan tapped, but i havent seen what lines are others using. Besides i can get another oil pan, its not a big deal. i think the oil pan is alot cheaper then the gridle to replace.

civictos2000 since your in nother carolina and you have the e-manage blue box, how was your emission go? i'm in Kinston nc. its neer goldsboro.

 

hurry up and tap the oil pan and plug it up so we can do our install maybe over thanksgiving break!!!
