Default tech2 9lbs pulley

am thinking about upping the boost on my comptech to 9lbs. I know, tech2, asp, and sos carrys them. I read somewhere on this forum that the pulley from tech2 doesn't really fit quit right. people are having a hard time installing it. For those of you with 9lbs boost, where did you bought your pulley from? and is it true about the tech2 pulley that people ran into?? thanks for your help!

Yes it's true its a PITA to install. I helped install 2 pulleys from Tech2 and both times we had to take the blower bracket off to tap it on.

There are a couple ways of buffing the inside ring to make the application easier, we just didn't have the tools at the time.

SIIk2NR
so in your opinion, whom should I buy my pulley from in order to avoid this PITA installation?

My opinion is bases on my experience with the tech2 9lb pulley. I can't recall the information that was put out on the other two brands but I would "recommend" that if SOS carries the 9lb upgrade to go to them first, ASP second and tech2 last.

I think there is a noticable price difference also and that tech2 often has group buys on this pulley.

Eitherway, if you want to make it work....they all will work. Although the tech2 was a PITA..... it did go on... and the end result brought

or you could just take some sand paper and work it for a few minutes and then it will fit fine.

My recommendation would be to get it from ASP. Never had a problem with their pulleys.

I can't find anything on ASP's website for the pulleys ? is it just a universal paxton pulley ?

btw - do i gain alot with the 7 psi pulley ? is it worth the price ? Or would i gain more with a 9 psi pulley ?

need some input for cost vs. performance value.

Call them on the phone and tell them what you want. $95 plus shipping.

it will cost you a lot more with the 9psi but with just 7 you will get bored very quickly and wanna do 9 anyway.

I believe 9 PSI will need bigger injectors and tuning, whereas 7 PSI can just go on with stock calibrations. Someone please confirm this.
The extra 2 lbs *can* give you 20-30 more hp, perhaps? (guessing based on 15 hp/lb)
