Yes, I'm doing the same thing. Everything will have to be custom made as far as I can tell, but it will work

If you have the money any good race car fabricator will make any trans fit any engine.
If I was you, I would locate a fabricator near you so he could use your engine and trans to make one.
Back in the 70's I used Buick or Olds TH 400 tranny's to mate up with my Chevy engine(much chearer than Chevy TH 400).

He's makiking one for his car, but they haven't come out with a kit yet. I want to know if the Borg Warner T56 trans has any possibility of fitting seeing as it's from a 600hp car haha...it would theoretically hold up

The domestic transmissions from what I've been told won't handle the R's up top. Shifting @ 8-10k is a bit of a stretch for those, even "race-prepped" cars aren't pushing them that hard.

That's not quite true, back in the late 70's our S/B Chevy would go through the lights at 8200 rpms and that was with a TH 400 and we were not a high dollar team. Some of the guys would turn 9k with their 302's but if we tried that we would have lost a rod.

Someone was doing a Supra retrofit recently I thought. Seems like that would be a good option, price and trans availability may not however, I dont know.
