TH400 to F20c S2000
I have designed a setup to run a TH400 in my s2000. My design eliminates the need for a custom flexplate or converter. It is designed to use standard GM style flexplates and converters, so parts are easy to find. Everything is CNC made.
The factory style flywheel is retained along with the s2000 starter. The adapter setup bolts onto it and then the flywheel is added. With the small diameter the inertia added is not too significant. Also if overall weight is a concern, with a lightweight flywheel the total weight is about the same as a factory AP1 flywheel. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...f506675b99.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...2cde6a57a4.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...fa3952f870.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...2f00de0d7f.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...7c381ef3be.jpg |

Like your setup, very clean and uses stock parts for the most of the build. My brothers '16 Corvette has the 8L90-E transmission, is that transmission to large to fit the transmission tunnel on a S? It would be nice to have a 8 speed transmission.

That surprises me because the TH400 is not a small transmission, good to hear it fits so easy. Please keep taking and posting pic's of your build, it looks great.
I hope someone on here makes a winter project of getting a 8L45 or 8L90 in a S. It would be so much fun having a S with paddle shifters and 8 speeds. ROD |

One thing I'd check on is to see if a very light flywheel could be used, I know they make a 8.5# flywheel for the S

Has anyone bought anything before from Josh Sanford ?
|
I have not read where he has sold anything on here, but you could get a S owner in his(Sanford) part of the country to be your eyes and ears to ask any ? you have. I know many have done this very thing when they couldn't go see the work themselves.

I have ordered an adapter plate to a th400 and a flex plate off him and it seems he has now decided to ignore all of my emails . He may just be away over the week end but I have heard nothing for a while.
