Default Is there a trick to tighten a Comtech SC belt?

Hi guys...

I am just wondering if any of the F.I. guru's know a simple way to tighten the belt on a Comptech Supercharger. If there is...me not smart enough to figure it out. The dang airbox seems to in the way and doesn't allow you much room to turn a wrench. I'm not happy about removing it everytime I need to make an adjustment. Since the belt is still new, I had to adjust it twice already. Both times I jacked up the car and had a buddy wrench from underneath while I kept tension from above.

There has to be an easier way

Also, has anyone here eliminated the Comptech airbox and switched to a cold air intake type setup? If so...any pros(like easier belt adjustments) or cons (heatsoak)?

I believe there is a way to adjust it without taking the airbox, but I havent figured that out yet. However, you dont need to jack the car up and do it from beneath.

I can do it easily by myself... remove the airbox (unless someone knows how to do it without removing the airbox). Stand on the passenger side of your car, use an extension for your ratchet and loosen the bolt. With your left hand putting a bit of pressure on the tensioner pulley, tighten the bolt up with your right hand.

Walk over to the drivers side of the car, and give the belt a good twist to see if its too loose.

Since it is still fairly new, it continues to stretch. I've had to adjust it twice already. I'm hoping the third time will be the "charm"

I would like someone to come up with a CAI of the SC that goes where the AEM CAI goes. I think that would be a little better, but I am no expert.

The only part of it that's "pimp" is the lid. The rest of it is crappy plastic that gets in the way of belt adjustments...

That's the part I like the least!!! I wish there was an option to delete the ONLY part that is CF. I don't care for the CF look and would rather just ahve a black plastic piece or the CAI we are talking about. Maybe I will buy an eBay CAI and see if I can make one.
