Thinking of going FI
ok the greddy kit doesnt LOSE power/tq at 6 grand... its the FEELING that your refering to that gives you the illusion of losing it... dont get it twisted..
For wat your looking for... and for the cost... you want the greddy...
hell, i'll even hook u up on a godspeed kit that gives your more potential for later down the road.
But the sooner you realize, that the tune is the most important thing, and what you use to tune it with, the more you'll realize this isnt gonna be cheap.
I had the AEM EMS 1052 U. i have friends that had stuff done at INLINE, and i have inline doing stuff.
having that said... because i want emmissions passing ability.. and full stand alone ability.. i bought a hondata kpro...
its all wat you put into it..and beleive me.. the cheaper you go with it at first... it will catch up in costs in the long run.

Why does it take until 5,500 rpm until the plots of stock to boosted to cross? This kit would be what I would want if that is the case and it sounds much more costly than Greddy. I am leaning toward Greddy more and more.
OK, there aren't any tuners here in the area. So I am out of luck. I understand the importance of the tune, but from what I have read the standard that Greddy sends is fine/safe/rich. I can run this an think I will be happy. If I can find a tuner, then great, I will spend the money if they are good at what they do. I just don't see much available complete around 3k with TQ other than a used Greddy.....

^ That is a great SC kit, but it still is a SC kit. It will take longer to get the torque benifits from them than a small turbo that can spool quickly. You get full spool by around 3000-3300 in the 18G Greddy. The SOT SC will pull away after it gets to the upper RPMs though. Same thing with the Kraftwerks, but again, you can't buy a complete KW kit for your car.
there is 200ft of tq at the wheels from idle (granted the plot starts at 2.7k) up to 4k and then goes up from there because of vtec.
tell me what turbo (single) is capable of giving you 200ft.lbs instantly and still have enough air at redline to result in a decent HP number.

DeadZero, sorry for blowing up. Greddy seems to take it on the chin in this forum and I just think it has its nitch which exactly where paulzale wants to be. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Just out of curiousity, are you FI? I'm sure you are I just don't know what kit you have. Take care!
Good luck paulzale!

Just look @ the powerband its pretty flat all the way from 3000rpm to redline over 200tq all the way through! Look @ any of the centrifugal dyno's and NONE of them will hit 200tq @ 3000rpms, well except maybe John_Z or Sideways, but they are in the 500whp arena!
I believe for what the OP wants, the SOT is best if he has any desire to go over 300whp (300-400whp) If he will be fine with 300whp or less, then I would go with the greddy kit based on cost and a bit easier to install!
If they were both the same price. then without a doubt I would go with the SOT kit for anything under 400whp if I wanted more low-end torque.
But enjoy whichever kit you go with, because they are all great imho in their own ways!
Just my .02

Boosted TQ cross NA TQ and same for Boosted HP v. NA HP. That was what I was saying, NA numbers are higher until 5,500 RPM
I think you may be reading the dyno chart wrong.
