Thumbs up Time for oil to "dirty"

Noticed that it takes quite a bit less time for my oil to turn dark since going FI, compared to prior FI...... I HAVE been running the car quite hard since FI, but was revving the snot out of it prior to FI. 11K miles on an '03.

Also, what should I expect for (good) compression test readings with the 3mm (approx 9:1 CR) head gasket?

thanks,
Mark

So, nobody else noticed the change in rate at which the oil darkens, after adding and running their turbo setup? And nobody has done a compression test on their motor after install of the 3mm gasket???

yes its true my motor oil got dark quicker. I have a solution for that I installed a catch can so dirty gunk doesnt get into the engine. It seems to do it and it's collecting some dark stuff, definately more than what NA would produce.

i will be doing my first oil analysis post F.I in the next few weeks, should be interesting to see the difference. get an oil analysis to chart your engine as you go on, even once a year might tell you something.

Chris,

Please post the results because I have noticed my oil gets dark very quickly as well. If a catch can would help this then I'm going to go that route. Everyone experiencing this problem is using a high grade synthetic, right?

I run Amsoil now and it turns dark about as fast as Mobil 1 did.

I use Mobil1 and I have also noticed that it turns black pretty quickly since I have gone FI. I change my oil at 3k miles max and its black. I don't really run my car very hard either for the most part.
