Sounds like more JDM magic to me. Surely if there was really an advantage Garrett would have bought a HKS and studied it.
Oh really?
SO Then by your logic, Amuse Dampers are not superior to standard Bilstein Dampers. JDM magic? Suuureee...

Of course they are. They're blue.

Seriously, do you really believe there are things about damper that Amuse (a workshop in Japan) know that Bilstein don't?

Yes the specs may be slightly different. Yes they may be tuned for a different environment. But that environment is most probably Japan's high quality roads. In which case I suspect the Bilsteins would be more suited to Aus and US conditions.

half right... Garrett makes the snails for HKS... they know what trims and whatnot HKS has specified... with this in mind, it makes me think 1 of 2 things... Either HKS' contract with Garrett states that any of their R&D cannot be reproduced, or the specs are not desirable enough by the general public to warrant making them... I'm more interested in their T04Z turbine... the anti-surge veins look like they would be more effective than the Garrett equivalent...

I think you got it there. They are specialised trims (and in Amuse's case, damper rates) that are for a niche market.
