Nice work on your hood though! I want something like that for my v-mount setup

Yea since I already have the air box made im going to run it for a while to see how it does. It is my DD but I don't drive very far usually. I am going to be making a mold of the hood after im done if your interested in one

You absolutely do not want to draw intake air through your intercooler! Running this way, best case is it effectively cancels out your intercooler altogether. However best case would assume 100% efficiency of the intercooler. In the real world your intercooler efficiency is much less and you will actually be heating your charge air up more than it would be by running no intercooler at all.

Yea ive decided im gonna do the half size radiator backup plan. so I need to make a duct that fills the other half of the grill area to scoop the air up and out through the top of the hood. This way I can still re-use the hood im making and keep the mounting for the air intake and intercooler. If I do it this way I will probably end up seeing if I can incorporate an oil cooler kit into that scoop area as well so I don't block the precious radiator surface area. Thanks for the input everyone and ill post an update on this once im done with the hood or have the turbo kit somewhat finished.... a long way to go on a low budget like mine lol

Like this? From LHT Performance

Also, anything after the radiator get hot air, that way most intakes are positioned to the side fender to get cooler air that doesn't touch the radiator

I saw a picture of that setup on their webpage and it looks really interesting. Do you know any details of that LHT kit setup? Any idea how well the intercooler works and what turbo/how much boost they're running? I also saw the kit they made that's up for sale in the FI section that has a small tubular manifold that uses the internal wastegate port of the turbo. Very interesting..

It was a friend's car, he sold it for a g8 lol I would say call the shop for more information 7273441800, the guy selling the kit in the for sale section made that kit and works at lht performance, so feel free to message him more about it too, I did know more about this car but its been a while since it was in the hands of a friend

This is a pretty cool idea. Lots of hard work put in so far. Great job !

However i think your turbo is a bit large for the manifold/intercooler setup. I would think something like a gt28r would be better suited for this topmount intercooler and log manifold

Well I don't have the turbo yet, it was highly recommended to me by a friend who ran it on a civic/integra (cant remember which). I want to do something very similarto that picture but instead of everything just hanging out in the engine bay I want to make a duct to go from the front bumper to connect flush to the intercooler, it will have an offshoot to one side where the intake will be. So the intake will be separated from the engine bay heat and wont be behind the half sized radiator at all. Anybody ever used or heard anything about this radiator?

Its gotta be crap since its so cheap lol. Im half tempted to try it out just to test the setup before I go with a more expensive triple core radiator. I would really like to at minimum hit 400 hp on this engine. I have another engine I bought for 300 dollars with a spun rod bearing I am going to build later, already have the darton wet sleeves for it I picked up for 450 new from a craigslist add. I was looking at the precision 6262 because although bigger than I need would allow some room for improvement once I get the other engine built.

Your log manifold is going to hold you back a bit. They create a lot of heat, from what I have read. Can lead to detonation etc

The 6262 works well on a ram horn setup or something with longer runners which is probably what your friend had

I did not have that exact radiator on one of my cars, but I did have the cxracing triple core half size radiator and it worked well

Yea I got the steed speed manifold for 300 new, liked the idea of it being "bulletproof". If I do decide to run that radiator can I run it on either side? Like if I wanted to run it on the passenger side would there be a problem with running the top hose that far?
