Default Track Advice

I'm planning to go to the track friday. I wanna bring the car home with the diff in one peice.
I'm running brand new 240/40/18 tires that I just put on saturday, car has 403 whp/234tq. What is the safest possible way to leave the light? I'm not sure what time's to even expect? The car went 14.1@99 with just a 70mm invidia exhaust and test pipe. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

You either want to break the tires loose or have the clutch take the force from a standing start acceleration! Depending on tire and track adhesion, breaking the tires loose might be harder than you think! You can slip the clutch, which will decrease the life of the clutch, but won't shock the drivetrain like a launch will! A friend recently got a 11.9@122 doing that same method in a turbo s2000!

why are you running only 225 size tires? For 18's you should be running ~255/35/18 especially for the power your making.

If you don't have an upgraded diff, just take off slowly. With that power you can easily break something.

You should just take off normally and then floor it.

You may not get a super fast time but hopefully your trap speed will be up there.

You'll probably still run a 12 sec pass.

low 400whp my car was making when i ran 11.9. I held the rpms around 3k, and just feathered the clutch out once the clutch is fully out go WOT. I was able to get 1.9 60' doing this method. I know its not good for the clutch but id rather do that then blow my diff. I was also giving a little off the gas in high rpms first and 2nd as my tires broke loose. When you are at the line you should have the clutch pedal up to the point where it is about to engage. I have my clutch engaging and hold the ebrake to insure i dont break anything in the drivechain. Its called preloading which is near impossible to break something if done properly.
