Default trans takes a dump

Second gear is toast. The car has a Full Race EFR Kit making roughly 420whp and about 1000 miles on the kit. Recently took the car on a 250 mile trip. Ran great. Brought it back and drove for 3 miles in Chicago...BOOM!. 1st gear is retarded and second is non existant.

So far, I've seen 3 options for transmissions: stock replacement/rebuild...Supra V160 trans...PPG/straight gears.

Anyone have any experience with other options besides the ones I've listed. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

How many miles were already on the trans? I've been boosted for about 10k miles on a stock trans and it still works. I'd stick with stock unless you plan on taking it to the strip a lot.

You guys must drive like animals. my 2nd gear lasted 30 passes and 30,000 miles boosted, 12,000 of those at 550+ HP.

Did you have the CDV removed?

I'm at 442whp and I don't have any problems with my stock transmission. Just throw in another stock trans if I were you.

Stock trans is hit or miss. Had one hold together for our 9 second pass ~725whp, others die at 420whp. Huge step up in price unfortunately beyond that.

I've been running 460-500whp for a few thousand miles now, with stock transmission. The transmission have about 110 000 miles on it, with a fair share of hard use. I'm not babying the car in any way, but I'm not dumping the clutch. No problem what so ever. I do have a spare stock transmission though, just in case.
