Default Transmission 2nd gear

The other day my 2nd gear went in my transmission during a pull. I'm Wondering what my best bet is to get this one rebuilt or buy a used transmission. All other gears work good in this although it does make some noise when I'm driving it that I can hear. I can still shift into second gear and let out the clutch and nothing happens and when I'm at a stop with the clutch out it makes a slight rattling noise but if I push the clutch in it goes away.

That seems to be the best bet. Any idea if the transmission can be taken out while the turbo and turbo manifold are in place? I have a forward facing one.

Yes I don't see why not. We just dropped the subframe to get the tranny off.

I wasn't sure. I only ever had the transmission out once when I pulled the engine but I had everything off. I remember dropping the sub frame a few inches.

You just drop the subframe down about 4-5 inches but leave the bolts in holding things up. You do this to get to the top trans bolt.

I'm just trying to see if I can leave all turbo stuff hooked up or not. I feel like the turbo would hit the front cross beam unless when dropping the sub frame the back of the engine drops causing it to do down at an angle.

I had a 48k AP2 trans (original to the car) and I lost 1st gear somehow. Rolled into it in first, and boom, went right to redline.

I'm on an AP1 36k mile tranny now. After last season, it's starting to feel a little notchy

Does an ap1 Trans swap right in? Any advantages to using one over an ap2 Trans ?
