Transmission?
I've seen people say that after the Inline Pro Diff Kit (with DSS driveshaft + axles) and R200 that the next weak point is the transmission...
However I haven't seen much specifics about that. How much power/torque will the stock transmission hold? For how long? What's the weak point in it? What are the options to upgrade to something stronger? Can you rebuild the OEM transmission and make it stronger somehow or is the only option to buy something aftermarket? Anything that won't break the bank but still get the job done? Any and all info is appreciated. Sorry if I missed something, but I searched a lot and didn't find much. Thanks. |
all options will break the bank and require custom fabrication

stock should hold around 4-500whp

2 local guys I know destroyed 2nd gear @ 500whp in a few thousand miles. YMMV

it really depends how u drive it, if u mash gears your gonna break stuff, shift easy and your stuff should last, Im gonna try and run the stock one at 750hp, hopefully it hold up for a while

Max torque in second gear allows the long shaft to displace slightly and BOOM. Go easy on second gear. Power on in third.

Thanks for the info guys. That sucks though. Almost seems pointless to upgrade the diff/axles now if the trans is gonna break anyways and I doubt I'll be able to upgrade that...
