Default Treadstone Intercooler 450 - 500 RWHP

Anyone had good or bad experiences with Treadstone Performance intercoolers? Looks like a decent bar and plate type, and they offer sizes that might fit my needs.

Going to be pushing more boost than my original UR kit planned, so I'm upping the intercooler size to ensure decent charge temps and minimize knock potential. Looking like Treadstone has decent pics and dimensions for my needs -- either the 10" or 8" for under $300.

Treadstone Intercooler

Full-race's version has a core of 24x11x3 (likely 28 - 31" end-to-end) costs $800 and isn't a bar & plate -- I'm open to input on this one.

Inline Pro has what look to be Precision units if the pics are accurate;
31.5"L x 8"H x 3.5"D with 2.75" OD inlet/outlet rated at 600 HP for $472.
31.5"L x 10.25"H x 3.5"D with 2.5" OD inlet/outlet rated at 750 HP for $531.

As frame of reference, my bar & plate from Ultimate Racing is 18x7x3 (core) with 26" overall width end-to-end and is good for 325 HP if it corresponds to Garrett's sizing matrix (likely the same core as on their web site).

Definitely welcome your thoughts & recommendations. Posting my build specs below; goal is a reliable quick-spooling 430 - 450 RWHP on 93 octane.

F20C 2.0L 9:1 CR sleeved block by Laskey
F20C head with Stage 3 porting, titanium retainers, etc.
Stock AP1 intake and exhaust cams
GT3076R turbo with 0.82 A/R housing
Full-race tubular manifold
1000cc injectors, Walbro pump, Koyo radiator, PermaCool 450 HP oil cooler, etc.

Thanks,
Stanford

Thanks! Where do you recommend getting the Precision 600 for $350? I found what looks to be it at Inline Pro for more than that. Definitely welcome ideas. Looks like they do some nice work. Looking forward to having some fun with this build...

Thanks,
Stanford

Get rid of your 1000cc overkill injectors and go for 750's for 450whp. Your built engine is really overkill for such a low power output as well. I am pushing 412whp dyno dynamics which is basically 450whp on a dynojet and I have 675cc injectors that are not close to being maxed out yet and stock engine w/ 3mm headgasket from IP. Go with IP's core, you won't regret it.

Yeah, the 1000s were purchased when I was on the fence about GT3076R vs. GT35R. Calculations showed the 750s would be over 85% duty at the rich/conservative A/F ratios I was planning on with the GT35 and headwork if I was going to continue doing DEs and track events in the Texas heat. I'm all about being bulletproof with this build.

Will see what we can get out of the GT3076R and if it's above 450 I'll be happy. If I get bored with it, I'll go GT35R on the S2000T and put the 3076R on the M3 4-door.

Spoke with the guys at Club RSX and they're OK with the Treadstone intercooler. Given its dimensions, construction and cost, I think I'm leaning that way. Google "Treadstone intercooler" and you'll find some very positive reviews and many pics of high build quality.

Thanks again for the dialog on this subject. Good stuff...

Best regards,
Stanford

Just remember there's a difference between being bulletproof and wasted excess.

Good luck with your S.
