Trouble with AEM water/meth injection
I have been running my kit for a wile now, but its never injected when its suppose to. I have the controller set to come on asap at 1/2 psi but it doesn't respond quick enough. It takes about 3-4 sec before the injection kicks in wile in boost and by that time depending on the speed/gear I'm in, it could be 4-6 psi before it engages and its creating problems in my tune. I called AEM and they said this is the first they have ever heard of this delay problem
I would like for the injection to kick in as soon as I make boost, I assume something is wrong with my kit, just don't know where to begin, any ideas would be much appreciated. I have the basic 30.3000 kit -I think it is) which I have mounted in the trunk.

Anyone?
I checked my vaccum hose last night to make sure it wasnt kinked anywhere in the routing since that is about the only thing I can think of that is easy to check first, seemed like it might have been pinched a bit where I have it going through the fire wall, but didnt make any difference out on the road today, still a 3-4 sec delay.
Pure Suckyness

Have your tried testing the pump by running a direct line off the battery to see if it starts to pump instantly?
Check all your hoses, etc?

Check all your hoses, etc?

The Fluid hose runs from the trunk, routed from behind the panel behind the passenger seat, under the door rail and into the fire wall where the battery goes. I was thinking it was a ways to travel, but there is a check valve in the engine bay and should be pressurized from there, the line should all be full but 2' right? its still about 4' less hose then what was supplied in the kit so you would think there would be no issue/delay from this length. Also if the line was kinked it wouldn't emit at all right, not just 3-4 sec delay? Was thinking the vacuum hose being kinked could cause a problem but that was proved to not be the issue.
Thanks for your input and help here
[QUOTE=SgtB,Jul 13 2009, 12:32 PM] If the pump kicks on but takes a second to spray, put a check valve -at the pump-. The liquid is running back into the tank and you're having to wait for it
This light does it only tell you when the pump is activated or does it tell you when flow gets to the nozzel? If its when the pump is activated thats your problem. Does the aem kit run on a pressure switch? I would check the wire on the pressure switch and see when that activates.

Hey thanks again for your time on this guys, its one of those kinds of problems and AEM just hasn't giving me anything to work with in trying to resolve. Other then the delay issue the controller seems to be consistent in its function so I wouldn't think its defective per say, but who knows.
