Default Tunning for reflashed dbw s/c

I am purchasing the kraftwerks 06+ high boost supercharger in a matter of a week or two tops...

I was just wondering after the reflash has anyone felt like they needed additional tuning? I do not intend on swapping out pulleys or anything that you would think would make it a requirement. Just wondering if for what ever reason any near stock car would run to lean/rich or any powerband issue being that the reflash is not tuned to your exact car.

If this was an issue are there any reasonably priced tuning options? It seems like no matter which way you go it will require at least 1-3k for engine management/tuning.

My mods are HFC and cat back exhaust and soon kraftwerks supercharger.

you should be fine with the reflash. Unless you decide to up the boost there is really no point in runing a new EMS.

K&W high boost kit, it's an awesome bolt on kit of what it offers.
but if u want more in the future, it will cost u more..
such as EMS or K-pro ... and the high boost kit, it's almost at the limit already, unless u over spin ur blower ..

good luck.

I dont think I would really need more power. the numbers this kit puts down is the max that I feel would be 100% functional for track use (road course) before turning it into a drag car. I am thinking tuning in terms of reliability. Normally anytime you even consider s/c or turbo the first thing that comes to mind is a lot of tuning or you'll blow the motor. I am pretty much convinced at this point that this kit is really doesnt need additional tuning.

Hello! Nice choice on the KW kit.

For what you have done to your car there is no "need" for further tuning. Most of us here simply want to get the absolute most out of our cars and that is probably the single most reason for a tuning option on this kit.

The second reason would be for safety reasons. The more air that you force in = the more fuel you will need. This kit has been tuned for the "FACTORY" components. If you add in things like a header, exhaust, high flow cat, larger throttle body etc. you end up leaning out the air to fuel ratio (AFR) and this "leaning out" can (does not mean will) lead to possible damage. This seems unlikely for what mods have been done to your car.

For example, I have a J's racing header, test pipe (IE:no cat) and a slightly better flowing exhaust than OE. My AFR is currently slightly lean overall 12.5 - 12.8 and because of the cat deletion I have a spot that is a bit leaner still from about 4200 - 5800 that peaks at about 13.6 or so. (As I understand in forced induction applications most tuners tune to about 12.0 or so.) Now under normal driving conditions this should not be a problem, but I personally plan to get some kind of tuning option in the near future to correct my AFR. I could leave it alone and probably never have a problem, but I simply want to get every last HP out of this kit (hoping for 400whp) without over spinning the blower.

I have spoken to Hondata recently and it sounds really good for the Flash Pro to become available for the 06+ S2K. I am currently holding out for that, but we’ll see.

I hope that this has helped.

i had the 06+ kw high boost kit with a HFC, 70mm exhaust and i did not lean out at all. My Afrs were always around 12.0-12.5 which is perfectly safe.

The only reason to go with a separate EMS is if you want to upgrade and get more power later on. If not youd be perfectly safe with the reflash.

No time line. I can only assume that the price may be similar to the Si's Flashpro at $695.
