Default turbo acting funny!

OK, so i have a few problems with my turbo, that i cant really figure out the problem to. I am almost to the point that i am going to cut my losses and take off the turbo kit and go back to stock unless i can figure out what is wrong with it.

1st. Whenever the car is warmed up and i turn it off, it will not start back up for a while. It cranks really slowly. After it sits for a while it will fire right up, no problem. If i push start it, it will fire up as well.

2nd. Ever since i went turbo, my timing chain tensioner keeps ticking. I replace the first one and now, not even 2000 miles later, the one i bought is going out.

3rd. Whenever i am on the highway and go full throttle to race(even though i know this is bad), the turbo seems like it cuts in and out. The boost stays up, but my rpms start to stutter and jump back and forth at moments and it seems like the car is bogging down. Then it will work fine for a sec. and then bog again.

I have an Inline Pro turbo kit with AEM EMS 1052, 255 walbro fuel pump,675cc injectors, gt35/61 turbo, turbosmart 38mm wastegate, hks SSBOV, running stock internals, stock HG, GM boost selonoid and on 8 PSI.
Any help with any of these problems would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Fadi

1. Sounds like a bad battery if it cranks slowly? Do you have a fpr? What kind?

2. Its a bad problem that honda hasn't fixed yet, nothing you can really do about it.

3. Sounds like a tuning issue, get that checked out (number one could be a tune issue as well).

I have the same problems with my setup except number 3. Only worse. You go in and out of boost, I just get a p1259 and it won't allow me to go over 6000 rpms. I am going to change out the vtec solenoid and try to render my issue and go one step at a time. You have the AEM which is a good thing. I have the blue box which is my own fault, but something I am going to render very soon.
I realized that my startup when hot issue was due to plug fouling from gas and oil, and I had a blown HG at the same time. Pull your plugs and take a look at them.
I am just hoping it will all be worth it in the end.
Good luck on your journey.

1. I changed the battery out. I am still running the stock FPR.
2. Ok. Thanks.
3. I have shown the tune to a few tuners who said it doesnt seem like anything is off. I just dont want to spend more money on another tune if that is not the problem.

3. Sounds like you may be hitting boost spike that is fluctuating in and out of boost cut. Check your logs of boost and check to see where your EMS is set to boost cut. All it takes is .1 psi over that mark and your EMS will retard timing/etc. and your car will do exactly what you're talking about.

Ask me how I know.

thats wierd, it must be something different that Honda's Fault. I'm at 65K and I've never had an issue with the timing chain tensioner even after 2k being boosted... so if you replaced it with a new one and its bad again after 2k there must be something wrong...

3. is def the tuning... Do you have a Wideband O2 Sensor? because the cutting can also be caused by running lean for like a sec or 2... but I think the most accurate is the one about the Boost spikes... but you should really contact Inline I bet they will help you out... just my $0.2

Looking at just the calibration wont always tell you what could be going wrong.

You really need some good datalogs of when you are experiencing your issues.

It does sound like a tuning issue. minus your timing chain issue.

#1 even though you have a new battery, id have it tested. UNLESS you are simply describing this concern a little incorrectly. so it CRANKS slow, or...cranks long, then starts.... cause that could only be caused by crappy battery, or bad grounds.

#2 what kit are you running, i simply wonder about heat in that area due to manifold design. (also what oil do you use)

#3 id say your tuner needs to do some logs, and ride with you for a street tune. line #1 may also be related to this, as EMS is junk and has hard hot start issues. this is common, and known.

personally, id check all power and ground supplies, charging system check, then id have the tuner ride around and work out the bugs. have fun. talk soon. dave
