Default turbo install complete.. now rev issues :-/

**EDIT: CAN REV UP TO 5k. must be a lean vacuum acceleration issue with the stock map***

so i installed my turbo kit i have been working on on and off for the last 6 months.

its loud as hell(3" back with resonator and dump) until i can get to the exhaust shop and have them weld a joiner from my temporary turn-down to my mufflers.

anyhow, there are no leaks, everything seems good. im on the stock ecu until i get to the tuner in 2 weeks, so im just gonna putt around town.

-i unplugged and blocked off the vtec oil pressure switch. did that a few days ago and didnt notice any issues though.

-still on stock injectors, stock map sensor, even still have the stock 02 installed right by the wideband practically.

what could this issue be? no new CEL besides the one i have had from removing the air pump but i did that 6 months ago. is the ecu so sensitive to any boost pressure that when the map gets to 0 and could possibly go over it starts to pull timing or something? im getting breakup at about 10 vac and about 15.2-15.5 afr.

advice is much appreciated.
Thanks!

I wouldnt try anything until it's tuned. Why risk the money you put into it?

the breakup is getting cause by lean acceleration conditions while still under vaccum, not even to 7mm of vacuum at that. its like 15.2-15.5 AFR.

i CAN accelerate up to 5k if just light throttle. just didnt notice it before. anymore than light throttle i get breakup. which is expected.

i have the aem v2 ecu and 1000 ID injectors and a 3 bar all ready. i have even bi-wired all my sensors and injector plugs so when i get to the dyno, i just plug everything up, and let the turner do his thing. if i had some idea of how to setup the aem and get a basemap on and running, i would do that in a heartbeat, but i dont know where to begin. im the builder, no computer wiz here. lol

im pretty much on the same boat as you right now. just installed my turbo kit and running open downpipe with stock injectors and stock ecu right now. i dont drive it but im gonna drive it down the street to get my exhaust done, then trailer it to get my car tuned. i haven't started it yet but im guessing if you drive slow and shift like at 2-3k rpm, you'll be fine with the stock ecu and injectors.

you can rev up to 4 or 5 rpm to get to a shop, just dont have the pedal more than 15-20% and the turbo wont make boost.

there is a (NA) basemap on the aem already/downloadable to the aem, most tuners will also send you a basemap to have your car drivable to them

^^^Truth. I am pretty sure the AEM comes with a basemap. Check into that. I still wouldn't drive it hard but that'll be safer than using the stock ecu.

^heard that. i just called my tuner and hes gonna call me back. might have me setup the aem and injectors/3bar before i go to him. its about a hour and 40 minute drive.

I am only driving it straight from the shop to the tuner... I just threw in 4k for a fresh engine but still. Even on the stock build I wouldn't have taken that chance.
