turbo manifold problems

Default turbo manifold problems

today i found that my exhaust manifold bolts where gone i was missing 4. no idea how. so i went and got 4 nuts that fit. went to tighten them on and the stud snapped. wtf. how could this have happened

interesting, I wonder if the head warped from heat. heat made stud and nut brittle?

it could have made the stud bad but the nut was new. idk im guessing im gonna have to make new studs because i cant find any

are you using stocking manifold studs? they are prone to breaking with a turbo hanging off of them.

upgrade to the arp ones and you wont have a problem.

use the ARP header stud kit from ARP. I believe their SRT-4 kit fits our car... Might have to shorten the studs a tad.

I had one break off when I got my Laskey motor... Took the mechanic 30 minutes to drill out the stud fragment.

Its actually pretty common with the temperatures of the turbo manifold...

the combination of the heat and vibration along with the sheer weight of the setup is asking for trouble.

call up inline and get the studs. they should be mandatory.
