For 5 grand you can easily have a base sc set up with clutch and gauges and all.
Comptech kit used for like 3 grand a grand for clutch with install and another 1000 for gauges and sc install etc.

I had SC if I had to do it over again I would go turbo. One for the torque, and two it seems that 8-10lbs of turbo boost yield more power than 8 to 10 lbs of SC boost. SC boost is deceiving it is all between 8 and 9k, unless you go AEM or Kpro and start fidgeting with the system.

1999, the top power is always at the top end with a centrifugal SC.

Looks like you have a AP1. Those Greddy kits are less $. I've seen them on here for 3200-3800 new! If you are concerned about smog you will be limited but if not there are lots of choices for you.

My recommendation is it doesn't matter what you get SC or TC it's all about the Tuner. Find someone experienced with whatever you are getting. Makes a world of a difference!

2001 ECU is not tunable. You will need an AEM EMS, Hondata, or some sort of piggyback (E-manage or similar).

You can however use what comes with a comptech sc kit and not need to tune. Comes with a rising rate fuel pressure regulator to add fuel. That and a larger fuel pump.
Not the best but seems the comptech kits work pretty well. My vortech has been nothing but issues but I think that is something more with my car not the kit.

Here's a very limited list for you to start looking at.
Turbo - Mase Engineering, InlinePro, PFab, Greddy
Supercharger - Kraftwerks, Science Of Speed, Vortech, Comptech
If you're in Orlando, you're close to Mase Engineering. Mase is one of the most respected tuners around, so when it comes time to tune, I'd look his way if I were you.
