Default Turbo tuning questions.

Im slowly piecing a turbo kit together for my 00' s2k. Ive given up on trying to pass smog in CA...

Could anyone provide some insight to my ECU options?
Ive only ever done forced induction on carburated vehicles and no nothing about what it takes for ECU tuning (ill have a local speed shop dyno tune for me)

Is it possible to run the stock ECU safetly with low boost? I dont plan on going over 10psi.
If i cant use the Stock ECU what is my best option for a direct plug to plug ecu? I dont want to cut apart the harness to much.

thank you for your time,
Andrew

Stock ecu will work for a low boost supercharger setup but you'll need a full standalone tuning solution for turbo. Find out what your tuner is most comfortable tuning with and go with that.

Do what S2knoob said, find out what your tuner prefers, if not then I would suggest an AEM stand alone.

I was reading up a little on some of the tuners, anyone have anything good to say about the direct mate up ECU from HALTECH?

Haltech has had good reviews but not all tuners are comfortable with it. Find a tuner and ask what they prefer.

That makes sense. They all pretty much cost the same give or take a few hundred and the functionality is roughly the same.

Thanks for the tips!
