Default Turbocharged vs Supercharged

I'm looking to go FI in the near future and I know this question gets asked a lot and thats each has their own pros and cons, which makes them almost equal.
But I was thinking that one may be better than the other for a daily driver?

Basically I've heard that turbo's are very high maintenance and require a lot of upkeep compared to superchargers. Is that true?

If so, considering the fact that I'm willing to sacrifice some performance for reliability (since its my DD) would a supercharger be the better route for me?

Thanks,
-TerminatioN

If you want daily driver reliability, a supercharger is probably the best way to go. Turbos can get there, but it takes time, effort, and $$.

Yeah thats what I thought. Thanks for the info.

Anyone else got an opinion to voice? I'm not totally against turbo if there is more pros that outweigh the reliability issue.

Supercharger.

I love my turbo but, for a DD supercharger is just easier.

Reliability in the long run and as far as how much money you spend, a DD would be best with a S/C. but unless you are willing to spend the required amount of money to keep it daily drivable w/o any issues AND you dont live in Ca then a turbo would be a fun DD. Go take a ride in a turbo s2k or a s/c s2k and see what you would want more and ask the own how much there FI has costed them so far

Don't tell him to do that... Turbo will win every time in that case

For DD I would go S/C. I love my little turbo, and it has been reliable (so far), but form all that I have read, S/C require much less upkeep than a turbo. You won't get that low end grunt that turbos can give you though. If you go with a conservative kit (Comptech S/C and Greddy turbo), you will get similar performance out of the box. Do you want to hear a S/C whine or a turbo whoosh. Either way the most annoying sound will be the fuel pump whine!

Good luck bro!

If you like the power band of your car stock and just want more power, then get a S/C. If you want make your car feel like a V8 with lots of torque down low, then get turbo.

Screw the "DD" reasoning. Both setup can be for DD, and since you didn't give too much detail on what your idea of a DD commute is like for yourself, it really is a moot point.

I'm bias towards s/c only because I liked how it keeps the same power curve of its NA form.

I DD my turbo S and i have NO reliability issues. I don't see why one would be better than the other since the tune determines the reliability.

Besides, blowers waste gas
