Default turbocharging question?

OK Heres The Deal, I Am New To Turbocharging Cars And I Am Going To Turbo My 2006 S In The Next Few Months To Come(It Is Absolutely Bone Stock Right Now) I Am Going To Be Running The Greddy Kit As I Am Looking To Retain The Smog Compliance. Ive Been Reading Other Posts On This Site About The Greddy E-Mannage And They All Say That A Tune Is Required, But The Emanage With The Kit Is Supposed To Be Non Adjustable For Smog Reasons And Comes Pre Tuned, So I Am Trying To Find Out Is, Running That Setup Is It Safe To Just Bolt It On And Go, And The Kit Is Rated For 7-8 PSI (as Im Sure You All Know About) Is It Safe To Run Without Using Octane Booster Or Anything Like That? And One Other Thing About The Emanage, Does Anyone Know If It Activley Controls Ignition Timing (Such As Retarding The Timing As Boost Goes Up?)

I Would Appriciate Any Help!! Thanks A LOT!!

The E-Manage Base Map Was Design For You To Drive Your Car To A Tuner. Its Safe To Run Without Octane Booster. Just Pump Premium Gas And You Will Be Set. Make Sure Your Running a High Flow Cat Or Your Stock Cat. I Wouldn't Go WOT Until You Get It Tuned.

You Will Have To Contact Greddy For a Unlocked Base Map.

Good Luck. No Problemo. Boost FTW!

the C.A.R.B. website says that the emanage for the legal kit is not user adjustable, is it something only tuners can do. What does "WOT" stand for? thanks!

It comes locked because its CARB Cert. Just go see a local tuner they should be able to source a unlocked map for you. Where do you live anyway?

WOT = Wide Open Throttle.

Did you get the CARB sticker already? If you did just slap that on your car and then go see the tuner, once its time to smog your car switch back to the stock map it takes a couple mins and a laptop computer.

is it similar to power commanders on motorcycles, just load the map file to the computer program and upload it into the emannage by usb cable?
