Twin Disk
The only carbon clutches I've heard people having problems with are the Exedy ones. And 99% of the guys that had problems with those are EVO and Subaru guys.
Like I said, I've personally ran 2 carbon clutches, on 2 different cars with no problems at all. The best clutches I've ever ran. However they should be for $3500-4000.

Anyone have a twin disc setup lock up? I helped a guy who was racing his Viper in the Texas mile, hit 198mph, and his multi pack clutch locked up at one point. I had to literally give it a huge shove to undo it and he was able to then put in the clutch and kill my ear drums starting it.

Anyhow, cera-metallics have a really long service life so it should be in your list of options. I however, would go with a SOS carbon though, that thing is sexy. That and I hear its cheap to get it rebuilt.
Thank you guys for the replies. The bit of information about the carbon disks not lasting long is a very important detail I was looking for. If the Comp twin disk WAS offered with cerametallic pads I suppose that would be the best selection
? Perhaps one of our vendors can give us some elaboration on that idea.
Given that the carbon disk clutches are so smooth would you still have that characteristic with a clutch with cerametallic pads?

I have a ATS twin Metal- Metal clutch..the clutch has no wear at all.
before i used to change clutches every 3000-to 6000miles.. and this one i was changing tranny parts we checked it and ..no wear at all.
Starting from standstill is great but down shift is for professionals..
I grabs right away and no slip.. need to have your RPM matched. or Wheel lock.
by the way i personally think that many other things will fail before this clutch..

Honestly I have the downshift portion taken care of quite well. I have not heard of this clutch but Im google'ing it this instant? lol
I was talking to a friend at work and he did say one thing to consider with a clutch like this IS the toll it will have on your transmission. What kind of power do you make on that car?

Very cool thread. I will be doing a twin disc setup as my next major mod, so its great to hear all the feedback from people with the experience.
Currently I'm leaning towards the Exedy ceramic twin disc setup because the longevity it provides for the street vs the full carbon setup.
