The Ultimate Emanage Thread
Since I am only using it to tune the fuel curves right now I think it will do.
Slow once the software updates come out to fix the ignition timing I will give you a call so we can do some comparative analysis between the Greddy data logger and what your scan tool reads.
Ultimate was pulled out of the car this morning.
There was some major hesitation in between 3800 and 5500 RPM.
The throttle was kept at a constant angle so the only thing that could explain the hesitation was the Ultimate. The hesitation was experiences in 1st 2dn and 3rd with the throttle angle held at 35%. I did not fell comfortable seeing if the problem still happened all the way through the gears. Problem repeated its self with throttle angle in-between 35% up to 65% anything over or under that range the hesitation did not occur or was not noticeable.. (the Ultimate was in full bypass no fuel injector control)
The best way to describe the feeling is.
The acceleration factor was cut by about 75% in that RPM range.
I did not have the WB A/F hooked up a at that time so no A/F to report no CEL

This is not good news. I have been having similar trouble getting mine running. Pretty much ready to give up.
What options do we have, if Greddy is unable to get this working?
For emission testing...ODB2 is required. Any possible options from AEM?

There was a considerable effort on my part to get in touch with someone that has any experience with the S. I eventually did get in contact with someone but there tone with me was very condescending toward me. They were reluctant to given any help to anyone that is not a professional tuner and or tied to a performance shop despite then fact I have experience as I do this for my car club as a perk for being a member.
As I posted before they stated at this time the ULT is incompatible with the S regardless of year or manufacture.
Why would I want to spend some serious money for dyno time and tuner time for something that they all ready know that is completely incompatible with a specific vehicle. Keeping info from the public, especially S2000 owners that I know for the most part are very cautious about what they do to there vehicles is just going to hurt not only there reputation but the reputations of Greddy dealers. Usually its is the dealers that end up getting hurt when something of this nature transpires because the owner usually blames the seller/ dealer rather then the company that manufactures the product.
I was even told by Greddy tech support at one point the ULT would work for my 04 with out any problems. Just select the AP1 engine code and change the displacement value and modify the maps with the appropriate max RPM.
As of now I would call that a blatant lie!

Greddy did not provide much help.
It took over 15phone calls to finally get in touch with some one that was a little bit knowledgeable with the S.
At this time the Ultimate is not compatible with the S all functions except fuel injector control and vtec are non operational on the S2k any of the years.
However with all the other problems the Ultimate has with the S I would not have any confidence in the ignition control.
If you do hook up the Ultimate my suggestion is to only hook up the
1)vtec control wire
2) fuel injector control wires ( even though I don to have confidence in its ability to accurately control A/F never tested this function)
3) and maybe the map sensor wire
With all the problems the ULT has with the S and not hooking up those wires the ULT becomes nothing more than a very expensive Apexi VAFC.\
Untill the update comes out to support the S I would not hook up this unit in any way.
Greddy stated there was no set date form the S software update but it could be anywhere from 6months up to 1.5years from now.
But they are working on the problem since they want to use the ULT to control the CARB legal turbo they are working on for the S.
From talking to them about the ULT and turbo project I got the feeling they will be making a e-manage/ e-manage Ultimate hardware specific unit for the S. But yet again no set release date for this if they decide to go this way.

It was the fuel injector control that mine failed. (RC 750cc injectors)
The ultimate comes out today. Greddy will only answer calls from a tuner and has been very slow with email replies.

The Ultimate (hardware) has been out for a while?
Did you mean that the software update is comming out today to support the S
