Default Universal HFC VS Berk HFC

I'm currently running s T1R 63mm testpipe and want to upgrade to a 70mm HFC(smells bad and gf doesnt lIke it). The problem is having a cat that can withstand a boosted car. I've heard rumours that the Berk 70mm HFC can go bad after a couple years(roughly how many miles/kms??), so I've been looking for a good quality alternative and maybe have one fabricated out of a 70mm TP. I know MagnaFlow and Vibrant sell universal cats, just wondering if anyone has any feedback on an HFC with boost.

Also I found these crazy HFC's that can handle up to 2800 deg!! Pricey though lol

I don't know if it is still the case, but when I purchased/researched my Berk HFC years ago, I found that it was just a Magnaflow welded in. I had no issues with either of the two I have owned; however, I was not boosted so probably a moot point.

I've got a Berk HFC with 30k boosted miles on it. No issues yet.

we recently had a customer bring in a berk hfc with the internals completely gone.. customer stated he bought it new about 3 months prior.. he replaced it with one of ours. we havent heard any negative issues regarding our parts. all of our parts are made here in so cal. we offer a lifetime craftsmanship warranty on all welds. we strive to make our parts better than anything else on the market in its respective price range. also.. our test pipes and hfcs are the only models that have a working cel fix 100% of the time on the 06+ models.

please check out the link for our hfc options.

Are you using a different or higher quality core than the magnaflow HFC (i.e. ceramic vs metallic)? There's a reason OEM cats are so expensive and the quality of the welds doesn't change the fact that the catalysts tend to blow out on boosted cars. While it looks like a nice product, I would want a larger sample test size before assuming that it won't have any issues on boosted cars.

Very curious about this topic as well. Looking to buy a 70mm HFC that will handle a SC setup. Used a test pipe with my previous SC setup and I could definitley do without the gas smell.

I have read and seen pics in this forum about HFC's going bad when used on a boosted car. I would assume this is correlated to the additional heat and pressure produced with boost.

Does anyone have experience with this Rockstar Garage HFC mentioned above? Are there any better HFC's out there that can handle boost?
